Check the whole driveway before choosing a truck
In our Sydney move difficulty index, Windsor Downs falls into the acreage group. The house entrance can be straightforward while the approach makes loading slow. That is our crew assessment, not a measured average for jobs here.
A car fitting through the gate does not establish that a loaded removal truck will fit. Send photos from the road through to the house, including any tight bend. These details help us work out where we can load:
- The narrowest point. Measure the clear gap between gateposts and mention low branches or an overhead entrance beam.
- The surface. Tell us if the approach is sealed, gravel or grass, and if any part becomes soft after rain.
- The turning area. Show the space beside the house with cars and trailers where they will be on moving day. A lawn is not automatically somewhere a loaded truck can turn.
- The walk to each loading point. Give us the approximate distance to the house and any separate shed being emptied. Include steps along the way.
When access ends at the gate, we allow time for repeated carries. A smaller truck may get closer, but it can also mean another trip if the furniture will not fit. We weigh up both before choosing the vehicle. Do not move heavy furniture down the driveway yourself to shorten the carry.
Before we arrive, pack loose shed contents into manageable boxes and keep the carrying route clear. We can pack for you if that work is still ahead of you. Check access at the delivery address too. When you move further across Western Sydney, stairs or a restricted entrance at the new home can add work that the acreage pickup does not have.
