The Sydney to Orange Route
The journey to Orange begins with a climb up the Great Western Highway through the Blue Mountains. Lanes narrow in towns like Leura and Lawson, and the road can become congested around lookouts and popular trails. Roadworks and occasional closures mean we monitor traffic reports and can divert via Bells Line of Road if required. Winter brings occasional snow at higher elevations; if temperatures drop, road crews may close sections temporarily. We equip our trucks with chains when necessary and plan contingencies to keep your move on track.
Descending into Lithgow, the road widens and travel speeds increase. Beyond there, you’ll pass through Blayney and small farming communities before arriving in Orange. Unlike Sydney’s inner suburbs, most streets in Orange have ample parking, but long rural driveways may require smaller shuttle vehicles. Livestock gates and narrow bridges mean we may need to make several trips from the main truck to your home. Let us know about such access issues during the quote so we can plan accordingly.
The region experiences hot summers and cold winters. In December and January, afternoon storms can appear suddenly, while in July overnight temperatures drop to freezing. Packing seasonal clothing separately and keeping a box of essentials at hand will make the transition easier.
