Route Experts: Through The Hinterland And Coast
The first part of the trip follows the Pacific Highway north through familiar landmarks like the Hawkesbury River and Central Coast. Holiday traffic can slow progress, so we often depart early or travel mid‑week to avoid congestion. Past Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour the road narrows in places, and there are roadworks as sections of the highway are upgraded. We stay informed of lane closures and adjust our plans accordingly.
At Bangalow, we leave the highway and head inland along the Bruxner Highway toward Lismore. This road winds through subtropical rainforest and farmland. It’s narrower and has more curves, so our drivers adjust speeds and take regular breaks. In wet weather, landslips or fallen trees can cause detours, so we monitor local council updates.
Lismore’s street network varies from wide boulevards to narrow lanes in older areas. Many properties experienced flooding in recent years, which has led to temporary road repairs and restricted access in certain streets. We may need to park our truck on higher ground and shuttle items to your home. During our quote we’ll ask about flood levels and access issues to ensure proper planning.
The Northern Rivers climate is humid and rainy in summer, with cooler, drier winters. Protecting wooden furniture and electronics from moisture is essential. Our removalist trucks are sealed and use moisture absorbers when necessary.
